The Systems Support Technician provides user support services for school administration and classrooms by performing first level PC maintenance and by troubleshooting network problems. Coordinates all efforts at the school level to address and resolve technical and network issues in coordination with Headquarters technical staff when necessary.
Responsibilities
Tier1 Support (60%)
Manages user accounts and profiles for computer, alarm, voicemail and phone systems.
Troubleshoots reported problems and documents diagnostic steps for issues related to computers, periphery equipment, alarm, and phone systems. Conducts research to find solutions and implements the most appropriate solution.
Follows-up with internal customers to ensure that technical needs have been met.
System Maintenance (15%)
Implements software and hardware releases, bug fixes and/or operational improvements as directed by
Headquarters staff. Re-images, cleans, and maintains computers. Makes repair or hardware
replacement recommendations to the Director.
Performs server backup in accordance with enterprise backup policy and maintain application and curriculum software as directed by Headquarters staff.
HQ Communications and Collaboration (5%)
Collaborates with Headquarters'' IT Operations, Network Team, and/or third party service/warranty provider to restore services and correct core problems.
Assists Headquarters IT staff with enterprise wide project planning and implementations as needed.
Curriculum Support (15%)
Provides technical/network support on the distribution of curriculum software images. Provides user training and assistance.
Safety and Security (5%)
Performs safety and security and other technical duties as assigned (e.g. Security Systems, Disaster Recovery planning, etc.)
May supervise student workers or Federal Work Study employees performing similar work.
Requirements
Knowledge of computer and network systems typically acquired through completion of an Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. A
Certification preferred.
At least one year of experience with LAN/WAN, Windows and desktop applications with knowledge of network essentials and concepts.
Possess interpersonal, influencing and collaboration skills. Able to work with a variety of levels inside and outside of the college.
Ability to respond effectively in writing. Ability to write effective reports and/or presentations.
Efficiently utilize a personal computer and related software including Microsoft Office, departmental specific software and Internet proficiencies.
Proven educational or administrative experience in solving problems for individuals. Experience with analyzing and identifying the strengths and weaknesses of options and exercising critical thinking, problem solving, and judgment skills.
Apply and maintain a broad knowledge of principles, practices, procedures, laws and regulations.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high level, quality work and output. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, results-oriented environment.
Proven track record of project completions on time and within budget or other constraints. Past history of quality attention to detail.
Interacts in a cooperative and professional manner with others. Able to work effectively in a team environment. Past history of developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
