Responsibilities The Parkview Family YMCA is seeking a Sports Camp Counselor who is enthusiastic, energetic, and compassionate with a strong desire to positively impact the lives of young children while leading fun and enriching activities for school-age children participating in summer day camp at Parkview Family YMCA.
Connect:
Supervise assigned groups of children and engage in positive staff-child interaction.
Develop:
Promote a healthy, emotional, social, intellectual, and physical environment for each child.
Lead:
Execute day-to-day responsibilities to create a safe, secure, and enjoyable environment for campers.
Ensure that emergency plans are followed when necessary.
Requirements Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:
Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Reliable transportation to and from work.
Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills.
A warm and friendly personality and the ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents, children and school personnel.
Able to fulfill all demands in spirit, mind, and body as a summer day camp counselor.
Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
Salary:
Part-time $13.
