Summary:
Responsible for monitoring injection molding machinery operation and for any activities required to prepare the parts for customer use.
The activities may include any of the following:
handling and packaging of parts, trimming of flash, operation of secondary assembly equipment, de-gating of parts from runners, completion of production forms and labels, and the assembly of secondary components to the molded part.
The Press Operator is also responsible for auditing product and process performance, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Employees will be trained to all applicable company standards as identified on the company training matrix TR-401 Monitoring injection molding machinery operation.
Preparation of the part for the next step in the secondary operation if applicable and as per the standard work instruction (SWI).
Ensure that the part is meeting the specified quality requirements.
Operator will be trained to the general molding criteria and to the specific part criteria as required in the SWI.
The operator will be trained and assessed by the Production Team Leader for a period of time to confirm understanding.
Packaging of the part and maintaining proper identification and acceptance criteria status.
Operator will be trained to the necessary criteria according to the SWI.
Completion of the production forms and labels required for the job.
Enter production/scrap into Plex.
Operator will be trained on the Plex input during induction and general training.
Fill out daily forms and turn into Shift Supervisor daily.
Other assignments as designated by the Shift Supervisor.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to work with your hands.
High School Diploma or equivalent Ability to stand for 12 hours No prior experience as a production operator is necessary.
Training will be provided by the company as noted above.
Ability to communicate effectively with fellow Operators, support staffs and the Shift Supervisor.
Good attention to detail, and the ability to determine if a part meets quality requirements.
Ability to fill out forms and labels accurately and neatly.
Operator will be trained to the company standard processes and training will be confirmed by a written and hands on assessment by the Production Team Leader/Supervisor.
Competency:
Requires a minimum Peg test score of 6 in the assembly portion.
Requires a minimum score of 70% on the Quality Parts Test and the Final Test in orientation.
Must be able to navigate Plex when printing labels- basic computer skills are a plus but not a requirement- On the job training will be provided Must be able to print labels and attach label properly to the containers- On the job training will be provided Must be able to trim parts with a swivel knife and de-gate parts with gate cutters- On the job training will be provided REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
