PART TIME AND FULL TIME POSITIONS AVAILABLE! Job Summary Medical receptionist needed at a well-established, fast paced General Ophthalmology practice in Fort Wayne, IN.
Candidates must be patient service oriented, have excellent communication skills, demonstrate attention to detail, possess strong computer skills, and able to efficiently multi-task.
Responsibilities and Duties Responsibilities essential for this position:
Greet each patient with a smile and positive attitude Check patients benefits and eligibility Collect co-payments and balances at check out Appointment scheduling Answer incoming calls, direct calls to proper department, and return phone messages Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality (HIPAA) Balance patient transactions at end of day.
Three offices, currently open Monday-Friday.
Some locations have occasional Saturday and evening hours.

Experience:
Previous Experience working in a fast paced medical office ,or ophthalmology/optometry desired.
Previous experience with ophthalmic emergencies and triaging phone calls.
Must possess knowledge of major Medical and Vision Insurance plans, i.
e.
Medicare and Medicaid, VSP, Anthem, Humana, etc.
Knowledge and experience with patient scheduling software and electronic health records.
Good math skills and ability to close out end of day.
