We strive to add hardworking people to our team and we are currently seeking a Sign Language Interpreter and Instructor in our Disability Access Center (DAC) housed in the Communication Sciences and Disorders department.
Your day to day Provide American Sign Language to the PFW d/Deaf community.
Teach and assist in the development and furthering of the American Sign Language course and program.
Coordinate student interpreting requests and ensure interpreting jobs are prepared for the PFW d/Deaf community.
Play a critical role in facilitating PFW's commitment to DEI, specifically regarding compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act (1990), and the revisions under the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008; which provides the institution an important foundation to address disability-related barriers.
Provide sign language interpreting to and serve as a liaison to stakeholders in meetings, functions, and various campus events.
Serve as program consultant with DAC and schedule and maintain records.
Respond to student inquiries and provide support to students.

You have worked hard to earn a Bachelor's degree.
You possess professional sign language interpreting experience working with the d/Deaf community.
You hold a National Association of the Deaf (NAD) level IV/V or Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification, and an Indiana Interpreter Certificate (IIC) or have the skills and education needed to obtain the IIC.
You possess the ability to provide interpretation between ASL and spoken English for extended periods of time.
You can read and interpret written profession documents and can write routine reports and complete basic forms.
You have SEE interpreting experience and skills, in conjunction with ASL experience, preferred.
You possess strong written, verbal, listening, interpersonal, team-building and interpreting communication skills.
You are capable of managing competing priorities and provide troubleshooting.
You have a high attention to detail and the ability to follow and maintain an organizational structure to ensure effective sign language interpreting needs You are able to maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.
You possess a working knowledge of common computer applications and programs (e.
g.
, Microsoft Office Suite, databases) with the willingness to learn and use new technology.
You have knowledge of and can adhere to FERPA regulations.
You can perform work independently and with minimal supervision.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
